I'm mostly curious about peoples opinions on it, and if that date seems right to them aswell. The publisher seems to have stopped operating in the early 1900s from what my research has found. I was unable to find anything about the specific copy by that publisher, or any other pictures of it at all other than that one link above. Also the binding is a little damaged but the book is still held together fine Set in the modern day, it is loosely based on the 1868 novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. I'm guessing this is just how printing technology was in those times. Little Women tell’s the story of a close-knit family, focusing on 4 sisters living during the American Civil War. With their father off fighting the war, the girls create their own theatre company as they write and perform skits for each other. There's a lot of errors in the printing such as blotchy letters, missing areas of letters, more ink used in some places, etc. Little Women is a story that revolves around the lives of four sisters growing up during and after the Civil War.

That seems about right to me though, my initial first impressions were definitely pre-1900s (even if only just). I spent ages trying to even find a single thing about the publisher to see when they operated and came across very little of value until I eventually came upon this which does seem to be my exact copy and claims it to be from around 1895, but nothing definitive. It has no publishing date anywhere in the book which complicated things. Louisa May Alcott was an abolitionist and a campaigner for womens rights. She followed it with three sequels, Good Wives (1869), Little Men (1871) and Jos Boys (1886) and she also wrote other books for both children and adults. Got this a few months ago in a charity shop and spent a few days trying to find something about the specific copy I had. Little Women was published in 1868 and was based on her life growing up with her three sisters.
